Would bodies float and bloat if the US/Mexico border tunnels got flooded by an irrigation pipe set by illegals?
Strange question but the answer is yes for a bit. When a person dies their body starts to produce gases as part of decomposing. This causes the body to expand ( bloat) and to have a higher buoyancy ( float ) further in the process the skin will rupture and the gases will leak which causes the body to sink again. The sloughing nature of the tissues will give the appearance that the body is bloated until the gases are fully released and the structure sinks into the skeleton.
