what is the purpose of the pullstub used on a collet chuck of a CNC machine ?
The pullstub allows the machine to pull the chuck into the spindle. Most modern machines have a toolchanger, allowing multiple tools to be loaded into the machine. When it's time to change a tool, the tool changer grabs the current tool in the spindle, the spinle releases its grip on the pullstub, the tool changer does its thing and puts a new tool in the spindle, and then the spindle pulls up the new tool using the pullstub.
