problem: 'please insert correct cd' when playing CnC Generals Zero Hour (first decade)?

I bought and paid for The First Decade, and IT WORKED for a a few months with no problems. This is NOT a cracked version, or a downloaded pirated game. I am running Windows Vista (32bit).
Every time I try to open the game I get a message saying "Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart the application."
I have already changed the permission for the game to 'run as administrator' and it is running in compatibility mode for the correct operating system. (this fixed the issue for about a week)
I am completely lost at this point. I have searched various forums and support pages but am still unable to find anything helpful. I even reinstalled the entire program with the same results. PLEASE HELP... ANYONE????

If it doesnt runs on other PCs then ur cd most probably got damaged. If it runs on other PCs then u can try cleaning the lens or reinstalling a new CD ROM. Hope it helps
