What is the best way to clean mold/mildew on basement walls?
My basement has a sump pump and has a drainage system above floor, not tile in the floor. So it looks like a baseboard around the floor. The mold/mildew is worse at the base. Is there a way to prevent new mildew from happening?
Clean it with a strong solution of bleach in a big yard type sprayer. Saturate the wall and floor and let it set. Keep the area well vented and wear protective eye wear, gloves and breathing mask.
Scrub it with a scrub brush on a pole to keep it away from you. Hose it down well.
After it completely dries....COMPLETELY DRIES...seal it with a paint called> UGL. ( it is for stone walls and brick and concrete to seal out moisture. Put fans down there to dry it.
If the mold come back you may need to seek professional help.
