Blown Struts and bearing?
I made a previous post but decided to repost again with what I found.
I took the strut hat off the LF tower and turned the wheel to check the bearing and noticed that that mount moved upwards. Checked the other side to see if this is normal and it doesnt do that. Eventually after bouncing, the whole mount, bearing and strut comes out. Normal? and what do I need to fix this? I had to jack the car up to get the mount to go back down. Also, checked my tires while down there chasing an elusive clicking when driving. Its been like that for 3 years now but since I am having so many problems with this suspension I'm wandering if the wheel bearing is bad. I have been thru 2 sets of pads and changed calipers and rotate the tires frequently so its not that.
The tire itself doesn't move at all but I can shake it and hear ticking and when the tire spins it ticks.
I have a 90 lumina 3.1, Mcpherson struts
sensi-trac struts. oem.
for a year?
you can get a free inspection at most any tire/alignment shop. take it to more than one place. see what's consistent with the critics.
by now you likely have more than just a strut and or mount issue.
