The hoist motor should have a connection box that allows cable entry. Your 12V cables should enter the weatherproof seal and connect to lugs in the connection box. Be sure to install sweat lugs on the battery cable for reliable connection.

The positive terminal should be marked with a small "+" or with red. The negative with black or "-" If there is no negative terminal, the case will provide the battery return.
