If you completely snap your ring finger's bone in half in one crunch?
How long will it hurt when untreated, and to what extreme? Like how many hours would it be until you stopped crying? Screaming? Please no one say "It would hurt a lot". I know that. This is for some writing I'm doing.
It's gonna hurt 'til it knits up, if it ever does. There's no way to say how long the crying would last, because different people handle pain differently. Since Joint Commission started requiring that hospitals use "pain scales" in the emergency department (a particularly well-intentioned bit of idiocy) I've seen that injury rated as a 2 or a 10 on a 10-point scale, and in general the lesser the injury the greater the chance it'll be rated a 10, with the world turning into a bunch of wimps.
