The best President, among those whom you listed, was probably FDR, because he was able to reverse the economic damages caused by such Republican policies as those of Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, and Herbert Hoover, which led to striking income disparity and a stock market crash, causing the Great Depression.
The Republican Party may have benefited from the luminous influence of Abraham Lincoln, the second greatest President after Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Lincoln served effectively as Commander-in-Chief during the Civil War, and ended the horrendous slavery practices and racism instituted by the founding fathers, including Washington and Jefferson, both of whom benefited from the dehumanization of their African-American servants.
JFK helped to generate the Civil Rights and Medicare era, which corrected many of the injustices that Lincoln would probably not have resolved, despite his egregious assassination, but JFK's assassination necessitated the prodigious political skills of LBJ to consummate JFK's leadership.
By elimination, we are left with FDR, an heir, like JFK, who nevertheless was able--in spite of crippling polio--to institute Keynesian programs, particularly Social Security, which was the forerunner of what may be additional socialistic advancements, meaning a progressive, wealth-sharing philosophy for which Obama has evinced some sympathy. FDR was slow to fashion government efforts to end the plutocratic, recessive trends that ended with Hoover, and that were reestablished by Bush, the worst President by far, who should be imprisoned for killing countless Iraqis, as well as American soldiers, via the Murder, Inc of what Ike called the military-industrial complex.
