is router signal linear, tech told me that i need another router for upstairs that the signal is linear?
I am having problems connecting from down stairs. The tech told me that the signal is linear is this correct?? He wants me to buy two routers one for downstairs and one up in the office. I think he is blowing smoke up my butt just to get more money. Any help will be appreciated!
routers are generally good for up to 5 metres and the signal quality begins to drop after that. it also depends on your walls and floors, be it stone concrete or wooden.
wireless signals are sound waves, and as we all know sound waves are not linear. in fact signals do bounce off walls, they are call echos.
you might want to get a signal extender or a signal enhancer. it will boost your signal strength.
