How to configure a dial-up connection in Windows Vista

Setting up a dial-up connection in Windows Vista is nothing as previous versions. In a way, it's easier and easier to use. Some steps in a manual tuning may be more a nuisance than other versions but none of these steps are very difficult. Before following the steps below, connect the phone cable from the phone jack on the wall at the back your computer, or your external modem and connect to the computer.

1. First, click Start, then Network, then click the Center networks and shares on top of the page. Click "Set up a connection or network" on the left side bar under the "Tasks" heading.

2. The networking wizard appears and asks a series of questions to establish the connection. Click Next.

3. Click "Set up a dial-up connection" so it is highlighted.

4. Click Next. In this section, all input connection information. The first entry is for the number of telephone "dial-up, or access to your Internet provider number has been given. If not have one, you can probably find a database of access numbers in the ISP website.

5. Type the number in space, and do not include the code area unless you have to dial your home phone to make a local call.

6. Enter your username and password. Type in the correct case to avoid connection errors. You may also need to include "@ <ISP's. Com <name / net", etc, after your username.

7. Next to "Connection Name, type the name of your ISP, or if the name you want to use the title of this connection.

8. If multiple users on your computer, you must check the box that says "allow others to use this connection. Otherwise if you have not found the same account is, you do not have access to this regard. Then a window appears that says "Internet connection is ready to use" Click close and continue with step 10. 10. You should automatically be returned Center Network and Sharing, unless you agreed to the assistant otherwise. You may see a window asking you to select a network to connect. Close this window, and the Network and Sharing Center should appear. If not, close all windows and click Start> Control Panel> (if you're in sight by category, network and Internet>) Networking and Sharing Center. Click "Manage network connections" in the left sidebar "Tasks."

11. Right-click the connection you just made and click on "Create Shortcut". You will receive a pop-up box saying: "Windows can not create a shortcut here, would you like to put it on the desktop instead?" Click Yes
