Shorted car amp, sends pulse to sub.?

So i have a 1000waat kennwood amp that i had used for a while, one of my friends was looking at my wiring and ended up taking the power wire off without removing the inline fuse after the battery. the power wire proceeded to come in contact with the shell of the amp, and made a pop (a weld). i then re hook up my power wire to see what happens... nothing happened with the cars power off (obviously) with the cars power on, the sub instantly started pulsing like a heartbeat. it would slowly increase its rate. my rca and power wires are ran down opposite sides of the car.

Basically i would like to know if there is any way to repair the amp?
or anything i can do to confirm where the problem area is in the amp.

any help???

If the ground wire was still connected to the amp it is then connected to the chassis (The ground travels through metal) The pop you heard is not a good sign. Most likely it shorted the audio input. The amp now does not recognize the input signal and the fact that it will just pulsate (Without an input) means the amp is now continuously putting out power. My reccomendation as a certified MECP installer dis-connect the amp immedietly to prevent further damage to the amp and potentially your car. But i hate to say the amp is most likely fried.
